Serving those who served

"Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."

-John F. Kennedy

Our Mission Statement

The Weight of Valor Project is dedicated to making high quality, handmade weighted blankets free of charge for combat veterans who are having service-connected mental health issues.

who is eligible?

We wish we could help everyone, but our resources must go where they are desperately needed.  We must ensure that the needs of combat veterans are being met.

The common definition of a combat veteran is: one who has a military record indicating they received Hostile Fire Pay, Imminent Danger Pay, or were deployed to and served in a combat zone.  This applies to Reservists and National Guard.

VA - recognized combat zones:

  • World War II
  • Korean War
  • Vietnam War
  • Grenada
  • Desert Storm (Gulf War)
  • GWOT (Iraq/Afghanistan)

The following documentation is required:

  • DD 214 showing deployment to a combat zone

We do NOT keep documentation on file.  Please contact us by phone, email or message us on Facebook to apply!  We look forward to helping you in any way we can!

Every Donation Counts

Because we will never sell our blankets to qualified veterans, we operate solely on the generosity of donors.  We thank you so much!
